road bike bikes and blades - April 5, 2008

Let's start the biking season with a two-fer -- two activities fer the price of one! Let's road ride from the outskirts of Park City down/up Browns Canyon, then exchange our bike shoes for ice skates and take advantage of a FREE open ice skating afternoon. The open skating runs from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm, and if you need to rent skates, they are available for $3. There are two options for the biking - 20 miles out and back for Browns Canyon alone, or add 10 more miles and more hills through Kamas to make a loop ride. The Park City Ice Arena is just NW of the junction of Hwys 40 and 248. Follow the signs on #248 to the frontage road towards the National Ability Center. The ice skating will go on even if it's raining or snowing, but call first about riding if the weather is not cooperating.
