day hike, mt. olympus - November 4, 2012
The WMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices.
To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the WMC Liability Waiver, online registration is required for all in person WMC events.
We will go as far as November conditions permit up the standard route on Mt. Olympus. Bring micro-spikes in case of ice on the trail and trekking poles, as well as layered clothing, hat and gloves, plenty of water and snacks. If there is too much snow and ice, we might snowshoe up Grandeur Peak via Church Fork instead of Mt. Olympus, if avalanche conditions permit. If we climb Mt. Olympus to the summit, estimated time is about 6 hours, longer if the route is muddy or icy. If we climb Grandeur Peak, the estimated time about 5 hours, longer if the route is muddy or icy.Level: | MSD |
