The WMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices.
Umpeenth Annual WMC Lone Peak Winter Excursion. Plan on the entire day with a headlamp start at 6 a.m. Registraton required. Equipment needed includes snowshoes, crampons, ice ax, warm clothing and plenty of nourishment. Helmets are optional. Please practice donning snowshoes and crampons if you haven't done so in a while! If new to using snowshoes, take at least one practice hike of 3+ miles to make sure they stay on your feet. This hike is weather-dependent and may need to be postponed and re-scheduled because of inclement weather and/or avalanche danger. The goal is to stay safe - reaching the summit is optional.
