road bike - mountain view corridor - April 18, 2015

This ride is on the west side of the valley along the Mountain View Corridor (MVC) and has several options to vary the length. The base ride is 32 miles. We will leave the parking lot of Copper Hills High School at 10:00. Come early and be ready to ride at that time. We will meet in the NE corner of the parking lot. It's about one mile to the bike trail along the Mountain View Corridor We will travel on the path going north until it ends at 5400 S. We will then loop back going south. At about the 11 mile mark we will be back to where we started on the trail at 9000 S, but we will continue south for an additional 10 miles to the south end of Mountain view Corridor about 21 miles into the trip. Somewhere along this section we lose the bike path and ride on a wide shoulder with bike lane. We will then turn around and go north back to 9000 south on MVC and then back to the high school on city roads. Most of the ride is either on bike trail or the wide shoulder on the bike lane of the Mountain View Corridor. Once we leave corridor we are on regular streets. For the hard core you can add additional miles and elevation by riding further south or ridding west up Butterfield canyon on the way back.
