rock climb - high-angle self-rescue 1
High-angle self-rescue for climbing teams, or others on near-vertical terrain that need to get an injured member down. The full program is 4 parts long; each part covers a different aspect, so it is best to show for all the parts. Helmets required, as with all climbing activities. Also bring your harness, and any rescue gear you climb with. All experience levels are welcome, and those who have gone through the series before are encouraged to attend again to refresh skills and help new participants learn the art. Part 1 will cover escaping the belay; parts 2-4 will cover ascending a fixed line, raising and anchoring, and tandem rappels. There is a $10 suggested donation for the series, which goes to the club for ropes and top rope anchors.
