snowshoe in the oquirrh mountains - March 14, 2020

We will attempt to reach the summit of Lowe, Kelsey and Corn Peaks in the Oquirrh Mountains. This is a long, strenuous day. Please plan on at least 10 hours for the completion of this trip. We will be traveling to the town of Ophir to begin this journey. The drive time one way is approximately one and a half hours. Therefore, please plan on an early start. Co-organizer is Michael Hannan This activity has been changed to a snowshoe to the top of Mt. Raymond from Butler Fork. Michael and I went to Ophir yesterday to scout things out and were surprised at many things. First of all, we had to park at the end of the pavement and walk to the end of the road because the road was so snow and ice packed that it was impossible to drive even with four wheel drive. When we arrived at the TH it was plastered with no trespassing signs. Permission for access is forbidden without written permission from J Bar Ranch as of September 25, 2019. But no contact information was given in order to obtain this permission. So in light of all of this we will change the trip to Raymond.
