kayak/canoe - colorado river/meander canyon

51 miles through beautiful canyon scenery in Canyonlands Nat. Park. Rock art, cliff dwellings, hiking opportunities. Potash to Spanish Bottom. Moving water, with no rapids. Touring kayak, and canoe trip. A touring IK may be suitable, but the IK paddler will need strong paddle skills to keep up with the kayaks/canoes. Conditions can be hot and sunny, or wet and cool in early May. Canyon winds are always in play. This is a SELF-SUPPORT TRIP. Participant will need a suitable boat, all their own paddle and camping gear, food, and all drinking water for the trip. We will be transported to the Potash put-in, and then picked up at Spanish Bottom by Tex's Riverways Outfitter. We drive down to Moab the day before the trip (May 3), camp at Moab Rim Campground, and have dinner in town. Trip costs approximately $260.
