road bike: midday ride: capitol hill-u of u loop - October 23, 2020

These are short rides to give us some exercise without spending too much time doing it. Today's ride heads up to Capitol Hill by way of 200 W, Beck Street and Victory Road. I checked out the Beck Street and Victory Road portion in person, and both have nice bike lanes for us to use. Once we are atop Capitol Hill, we will head to Bonneville Boulevard, where we can overlook City Creek and Memory Grove while we ride to 11th Ave. Then 11th Ave to Virginia Street, some neighborhood streets, a ride through the middle of the University, Guardsman Way, 1500 E and 1700 E. Finally, on to 2700 S and back to the start. Due to the climbing, we will ride at about 10-12 mph on average. Start time will be in the Noon-1:00 PM range, depending on temperatures, which will probably be in the low to mid 50s. We will need some extra clothing to keep warm. Registration is required. Group limit is 10. To participate, you'll need to be COVID-19 free, and will need to agree to the terms and conditions on the WMC liability release form. Email me if you would like to join us. I will send out the final details the evening before the ride.
